What is Clear and Brilliant?
There are many types of lasers on the market, and we have quite a few at Vérité! Clear and Brilliant is a fractionated laser that delivers targeted wavelengths of light energy to the skin’s epidermis (skin’s outer, visible layer) and dermis (skin’s lower layer, which is where collagen + elastin live!).
Clear and Brilliant is a fractionated laser, which means the heat energy comes out and hits the skin in pixels, creating thousands of tiny, microscopic thermal injury zones.
The individual administering the treatment will adjust the wavelength of the laser, which determines where the light energy is landing in the skin depending on what specific concern is being targeted (fine lines, pigmentation, texture, etc.).
By creating micro thermal injury zones, the surrounding cells regenerate, promoting collagen and elastin production—so in addition to targeting a specific concern like pigmentation, you’ll also get the added benefit of an overall improvement in skin (think better texture and a smoother, more even, glowing surface).
How Safe is the Clear and Brilliant Laser?
One of the fantastic benefits of fractionated lasers is that we’re able to deliver the targeted injury in pixels which reduces the amount of heat applied to the skin—this minimizes downtime, risk, and hyperpigmentation (which is a much bigger risk with IPL/BBLs because they use a lot more heat!).
It’s worth noting that the risks of this laser increase greatly in the hands of an unskilled practitioner. That’s why it’s SO important to know if the person administering the treatment is properly educated, qualified and is prioritizing your pre- and post- care protocols in addition to the actual treatment!

What to do Before Your Clear and Brilliant Laser Treatment
Pre- and post- skincare regimens are SO important because they ensure that we’re minimizing any risks. During our pre-treatment consultation, we’ll make sure you’re using the right products to prep your skin for the best results, no matter what your budget may be.
A topical numbing cream is applied to the skin 30 minutes prior to the treatment to make sure you’re comfortable and pain free throughout. And we’ll also slather you with sun protection before you leave our office to make sure skin stays protected.
Post Treatment with the Clear and Brilliant Laser
Skin will be red and appear bronzed for roughly 24-48 hours post treatment. Then you’ll have a sandpaper-like, rough texture for about 7 days post treatment, so make sure you’ve got a couple weeks until your next big event! (Don’t worry, no bruising, peeling or flakes here!)
As cells begin to regenerate, you’ll begin to notice luminous, glowing, even skin and an improvement in pore size.
Again, sun protection is VITAL post treatment to minimize any risks including sun damage, melasma, and hyperpigmentation. We also recommend using a high quality Vitamin C Serum post treatment (really, every day of your life though…haha) to protect the skin barrier as it heals.
Tips for Your Best Skin Yet with the Clear and Brilliant Laser
If you can afford it, a series (or “jumpstart”) of Clear and Brilliant Laser treatments is going to give you the best results. This is where the magic happens when it comes to improving the overall appearance + health of skin, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. However, if you don’t have a budget for a full series, the benefits of a single treatment are still stunning.
We LOVE the Clear and Brilliant Laser as an adjunct to injectables (botox, fillers, etc.). Why? Because botox alone does nothing to rejuvenate and improve your skin. It simply softens the muscle contraction to PREVENT fine lines + wrinkles, whereas lasers actually repair the skin from below.
